A global healthcare technology leader’s overarching vision is to responsibly and efficiently utilize and manage customer account data. To achieve this vision, they needed to automate and standardize their Sold-To, Ship-To, Payer, Bill-To, and Hierarchy Node accounts across key EMEA countries. Additionally, automating their customer create and change process will help promote consistency, informed decision-making, and high data quality across the organization. The organization’s overall goal is to eliminate duplicate accounts, improve the account maintenance process, and assign a dedicated Lead Data Steward. 

Key Challenges

The organization had an inefficient process for their data management that spanned across multiple systems. The process also utilized Excel spreadsheets and PDFs. Not only was the process cumbersome, but it was inaccurate. Other challenges included:

The improved customer account maintenance process now includes an end-to-end process owner (Lead Data Steward), approval workflows and advanced deduplication logic. This logic will prevent the creation of duplicate accounts. By fostering collaboration and simplifying their processes, customer data quality has been increased throughout the organization.
